The Rt. Rev. Hassan Kukah, the Catholic Bishop of Sokoto Diocese, on Monday commended President Goodluck Jonathan for signing the Same-Sex Prohibition Law.
``I also want to commend the National Assembly for the zeal and enthusiasm with which they passed the bill," Kukah said at a media roundtable in Sokoto.
``As far as I am concerned, anybody who lives in Nigeria and most parts of Africa knows that culturally, religiously and morally, this is not our life and culture,'' he said.
The bishop called on Nigerians to continue to showcase Nigeria and promote its unity.
Kukah said that Nigerians had a lot in common, adding that ``the media must, therefore, focus on issues that can further unite Nigeria."
Similarly, the Da'awah Coordination Council of Nigeria commended Jonathan for signing the law.
