The activities of a notorious house breaking syndicate whose mode of operation is through the breaking into the residential apartments of its victims in broad day light and into shops at dead hours to remove valuable properties came to an end when a team of Policemen attached to the Niger State’ Criminals Investigation Department (SCID) at the state’s Police Command headquarters, Minna.
The long arm of the law caught up with the three-man burgling gang when the lid of their illegal activities was blown off following a complaint to the Police by one Ibrahim Abubakar, whose house was allegedly bugled by the suspects after which the Police swung into action and got the suspects arrested.
Our correspondent further gathered that the suspects Ibrahim Ladan , Salamatu Garba (female) and Usman Abubakar are now cooling their heels in the Police cells.
An insider Police source informed the Dailytimes that no sooner that investigation into the case commenced that the first suspect Ibrahim Ladan after arrest, confessed to the crime and led the Police to the hideout of the two other members of the gang who were said to be receivers of the stolen goods.
The source who crave for anonymity informed our Correspondent that among the properties recovered from the suspects were household items such as two plasma Television sets, two stabilizers, two UPS, two Generator sets, one battery charger and a gold necklace.
Meanwhile, the Police Public Relations Officer, Niger state Police Command, Mr. Pius Edobor has confirmed the arrests of the suspects and the recovery of the stolen items.
Edobor, a Deputy Superintendent of Police confirmed the incident on Sunday in Minna, adding that the suspects will soon be charged to Court on the completion of the Police investigation, they would be charged for trespass, house breaking and theft upon their arraignment in Court for prosecution.
